Spring Wardrobe

Get the Look

Spring is right around the corner. I can smell it in the air. Everyone's moods are lifting on campus even though tests are still hanging above our heads. The best part of the changing season is the way you can pair a cute sweater with shorts, or a trouser with a cute sleeveless top. Big bold colors, and blocking them are still a huge trend and we see this in DKNY's spring 2013 ad's with model Cara Delevingne. Simple silhouettes like shift dresses and a line hems are trending as well as box-y handbags and purses for more of a minimalistic modern look. It seems as though Piet Mondrian has a heavy influence on designers this season just like he did a few decades ago. The primary colors and blocking them, however, are coming back in a more futuristic look. There are different ways of squaring, and letting the colors let loose which gives the new interpretation a fluidity we haven't seen in a long time. Now, more than ever, we are also seeing color on the same color. Don't be afraid to try this new trend! Use different shades of the color then use a statement piece that compliments that color for a fun spring look!
